Martin's Life in Photos
It is important for Dr. Martin Martin Luther King, Jr. to be seen in other images beyond him speaking to thousands, in prison or being harmed by police. Yes, Dr. King was an activist but he also was a husband and father. He enjoyed spending time with his family and reading. He was a whole person and when we teach about Dr. King to children, it is important to show and talk about his humanity.
These photos can be used as an invitation to spark a conversation about who was Dr. King. The following questions can also be used to help start the conversation.

Does he look (happy, serious, sad, etc.)? How do you know?
