How to use the materials?
FlashCards (individual or small group)
• The child can name the artwork and artist when presented with the card.
Matching Cards
• The child can use the control cards (card with picture & word) to match the correct picture card.
3-part Classification Cards
•The child can match the word with the correct picture as well as use the control card (card with picture and word) to check his or her work.
Questions to ask?
When looking at the artwork featured on the cards you can expand your exploration by making it interactive. Using the cards for matching and classification is one way but having conversations with your child or students about what they see or feel when looking at these different pieces of art is another way of engagement.

•What do he/she look like?
•What are they doing?
•Why is he/she doing ___________?
•What colors do you see?
•Why does this painting look dark?
•Why is this painting colorful and bright?
•What do you like about this painting?
•What do you not like about this painting?
•What might this person be feeling?
